We haven't seen any porcupines around lately and we haven't had any problems with letting Diesel run around free for a few at a time. just have to stay away from garden area.
He just love playing Frisbee, he's getting pretty good at it too, catching it in flight and sometime making mad jumps for it. I love to see him spend his energy with that much intensity. for a while, i had to play tug o war to get it back, but when i realized i had to own the Frisbee, it became much easier and not so rambunctious around me handling it. now he drops it on the ground near me and i wait for him to sit before i pick it up. at times I've even experienced him walking behind or at least not going past me when i walk with him off leash. On leash is also going well most of the time. with the leash dangling freely between us.
I still try to keep as close of an eye as possible with him around the kids but I've noticed he's been very gentle and tolerant around them. now i only wish i could train the kids to return the favor.
there's a new trick I've been practicing at feeding time. tossing kibbles of food at him till he catch 3 in a row before to hand him his bowl. at first, he didn't quite know what was the deal, but he's catching quickly.
